Reflection Prompts
Carve out ~10 minutes for yourself today to reflect on these questions. You might journal before bed, go for a walk while you reflect, or even send a voice note to a friend to share your reflections. Do what you know works best for YOU!
Step 1: Build Awareness of your Inner Wilderness
  • Name 1 or 2 triggers (person, place, thing) this holiday season that you want to relate to in a new way. You're going to transform your reaction to this trigger!
  • What are the feelings and emotions that typically arise when you think about this trigger?
  • What are the actions and behaviors you resort to in your interactions with this trigger?
  • What are the thoughts, feelings, and actions around this trigger that you want to transform for yourself?
Example: Gift buying can be a trigger for many people and bring up anxiety, worries about pleasing people, not to mention finances. People can feel tense, stressed, and in analysis paralysis. They then put it off, which brings more stress. This person wants to transform how they relate to gift-giving!
