FAQs

Do I have to take psychedelics or attend plant medicine ceremonies?

No. NBIC trains coaching skills for working with clients before and after their experiences. These skills can also be applied to other transformational experiences, like retreats, wilderness quests, or even big life changes! Personal experience with psychedlics or ceremony work is not required for admission nor certification.

Will I actually be certified?

Yes! NBIC is a professional certification from Earth-Based Institute grounded in the NBICS competency standards.

If you combine it with the Level 2 ICF-credentialed Nature-Connected Coaching certification program, you're also eligible to apply for your ICF credential up to the PCC level.

What if I'm not coaching yet?

Most NBIC students enter alongside or after Nature Connected Coaching. Doing both at once is the standard pathway for non-NCC students and we'll talk through the right path on the admissions call.

What is the schedule actually like?

The course content is self-paced and accompanied by bi-weekly mentoring calls and two optional in-person gatherings.

Can I facilitate psychedelic journeys after certification?

No, and by design. NBIC trains pre- and post-journey integration coaching. That is the safe, legal, ethical scope. Graduates partner with licensed facilitators and clinical providers; they do not facilitate, administer, or recommend. NBIC does not train students to administer or facilitate psychedelic journeys.

Self-paced sounds like I'd never finish...

Not for the people we admit. The application screens for commitment. The program is structured for working professionals who finish what they start! Plus, with live instruction and community touchpoints there is accountability built in.

Is this credible to clinics and treatment providers?

Yes. The NBICS competency framework + EBI's 20-year track record makes NBIC graduates credible referral and partnership candidates for clinics, treatment providers, and licensed facilitators.

When you add an ICF credential by pairing NBIC with an accredited coaching certification, like Nature-Connected Coaching, your name moves to the top of the referral list!

What if I'm already a Nature-Connected Coach and/or interested in NCC as well?
